Live Game Events
Live Game Events are limited-time events that can occur in the PC version of A Hat In Time.
Overview
These events usually celebrate a unique event for A Hat In Time or in real-life, like a holiday. They often redecorate Hat Kid's Spaceship and give special perks to the players depending on what DLC they have installed. They are by default toggled on for the player, but they can be disabled in the Game Settings.
A Hat in Time's 5th Anniversary
Announced by Gears for Breakfast, between October 4, 2022 and October 9, 2022, an event was held to celebrate the 5th anniversary of A Hat in Time's initial release on PC. During this event, Hat Kid's Spaceship was redecorated, and in Vanessa's Curse, sticker drops were doubled with all stickers having a unique Birthday effect and an extremely rare Hyperzone sticker effect was permanently added.
Winter Event
Announced by Gears for Breakfast, between December 22, 2022 and January 5, 2023, an event was held to celebrate the winter holidays. During this event, Hat Kid's Spaceship was redecorated, sticker drops were doubled in Vanessa's Curse, and a new limited-time map was added to Death Wish Mode, including 5 new Candle Challenges and 5 unique Sticker awards for each challenge.
This event was hosted again between December 4, 2023 and January 4, 2024. The 5 Candle Challenges and their Sticker rewards are the same as last year's. However, this time, 3 new Challenges featuring community-made maps were also exclusively added with 1 weapon award.
Summer Event
Announced by Gears for Breakfast, between June 29, 2023 and July 31, 2023, an event is being held to celebrate the summer season. During this event, Hat Kid's Spaceship is redecorated and a new limited-time map is added to Death Wish Mode, including 17 new Challenges (specifically 12 community-made maps and 5 candles) with rewards of 2 weapons, a Sticker, a Dye, and 4 community-made hat flairs (the flairs are also instantly available on Steam Workshop). All the rewards (except the community-made hat flairs) are added to the player's Steam inventory as non-tradable, non-marketable items with the "Awarded during the Summer Event" description to indicate such. Players also get additional items from the specific mods installed from doing the challenges.
The event was hosted again between June 26, 2024 and July 31, 2024 with more rewards. This time, level-ups were introduced where after the player completed all the challenges on the Summer Death Wish map, they would level-up their map to have more challenges and level-up their SummerDrink sticker. For the harder Summer Death Wish challenges, the player rolls a roulette to select which Workshop Mod they can use to help complete them.
